The average computer contains more than 30 toxic elements and other compounds, yet most old computers end up in the landfill. Instead of buying new, consider upgrading. If you have to purchase a new computer, take your old one to a computer recycling depot (to find one, see epa.gov/epaoswer/hazwaste/recycle/ecycling/donate.htm), or donate your old one to charity.
